Agri-food entrepreneur Boris Shestopalov, along with Anton Martinov from the "Laboratory," presented the book "The Silk Roads"
Ukrainian businesses continue to invest in publishing books in Ukrainian. Recently, the book "The Silk Roads" by Oxford historian Peter Frankopan was presented at the Sense bookstore in Kyiv, supported by Ukrainian agri-food entrepreneur Boris Shestopalov and the "Laboratory" publishing house.
In the book "The Silk Roads," Frankopan explores the theme of constant conflict and struggle for zones of influence in the near, central, and far East. India - Britain. Israel - USA. Japan and Korea.
How does history intersect with modernity? In what aspect can Ukraine find its superpower to become more assertive? Where should Ukraine look for strategic partners? Is there a possibility to build a coalition to support Ukraine from key points, like Japan or South Korea? What will be the future model and trade routes of Ukraine after the end of the war? These were the topics discussed during the book presentation by co-founder and CEO of HD-group, the ideologist of the Volia Food Valley ecosystem Boris Shestopalov, investment expert Serhiy Fursa, and the founder of the "Laboratory" publishing house Anton Martinov.
Boris Shestopalov: "Recent international events show that our quite powerful partners now and in the future are Japan and South Korea. I communicate with some South Korean businessmen and can confidently say that they are willing to invest in Ukrainian projects. However, it is worth noting that these are mostly grant funds for well-thought-out projects with potential and justifiable risks.
Japan's most important role for Ukraine is its diplomatic capabilities in that region where this country has an extraordinary influence. Japan is currently making incredible efforts to turn India's position around, which could significantly impact the war in Ukraine. Therefore, this partnership is strategically very successful for us. However, Ukrainian diplomacy also plays a significant role here." More details in the video https://www.facebook.com/share/v/oP2Nya6zjoo38DUL/?mibextid=WC7FNe.
The book "The Silk Roads" by Frankopan is already the second book within the announced project of Boris Shestopalov and Anton Martinov on publishing business books in Ukrainian. Last year, the first book "Drive" by Daniel Pink, exploring the nature of motivation, was presented at the Readeat bookstore. Entrepreneur Boris Shestopalov believes that investments in book publishing should be mainstream, and therefore he plans to continue actively supporting Ukrainian book publishing.
